SY 25-26 5th/7th Grade Math Teacher
Manhattan Charter Schools are two high-performing charter schools located on the Lower East Side in New York City, committed to providing students with the necessary tools for success. The 5th/7th Grade Math Teacher will lead engaging math instruction, inspire a love for math, and equip students with essential problem-solving abilities.
Education Management
Responsibilities
Develop and deliver lessons aligned with state standards and the school’s curriculum
Teach mathematical concepts such as fractions, algebra, geometry, and data analysis
Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners and maintain high expectations for all students
Use data to assess student understanding and adapt teaching strategies
Build strong relationships with students to foster a positive learning environment
Serve as a homeroom teacher, providing social-emotional support and building a sense of community among students
Collaborate with other math teachers and participate in professional learning communities
Write lesson plans and enter grades weekly
Participate in evening events, student conferences, concerts, and other family events
Maintain communication with families to support student achievement
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in education, mathematics, or a related field
State teaching certification in mathematics (or ability to obtain certification)
Experience teaching middle school students, particularly in grades 6 or 7
Knowledge of best practices in middle school math instruction
Dedication to the school's mission and core values
