Appellate Attorney (Counsel or Senior Counsel) California Offices

They are seeking an experienced Appellate Attorney to join their Labor & Employment Department, where the attorney will work on complex cases and collaborate with senior attorneys to provide strategic insights during litigation.

Responsibilities
Provide strategic insights during both pre-trial and trial proceedings
Collaborate with Seyfarth's litigators to create favorable trial records in anticipation of an appeal
Consult on and draft jury instructions and verdict forms
Answer procedural questions and file interlocutory appeals
Handle complex briefings throughout the trial
Qualification
Required
At least 10 to 15 years of significant litigation experience
Very strong interest and ability in research, analysis and brief writing; the ability to handle complex and detail-oriented work on a sustained basis is key
Significant prior experience in the appellate process, briefing appeals and conducting oral arguments in the state and federal appeals court is a requirement
Intellectual curiosity, a willingness to think outside the box, and a knack for finding practical solutions to complex problems
Excellent academic credentials, analytical skills and strong verbal and written communication skills required
Must be licensed and admitted to practice in the State of California
Preferred
Clerkship experience a plus, but not necessary
