Efficiently performs advanced drafting services using CAD software and Civil3D for a variety of complex civil engineering, permitting, and survey related tasks
Provide drafting solutions to the most complex challenges and guide others towards the same
Work with market sector leaders to advance drafting skills within the team
Technical leader/mentor on large/complex projects
Lead the production of and provide quality control for plan sheets and exhibits
Back check all redlines and instructions have been incorporated
Review all assigned deliverables for consistency
Compile, update, and review milestone submittal plan sets
Provide senior review of submittal plans
Strong understanding of scopes, schedules, and budgets
Predict and deliver individual tasks within a set level of effort
Consistently meet budget and schedule expectations on projects
Develop budgets and schedules for complex tasks
Break down complex projects into logical tasks
Mentor others on above
Prioritize multiple assignments to successfully deliver all assigned projects on time and on budget
Expertly apply drafting standards with advanced skill
Accurately interpret redlines and update CAD drawings and details
Create new sheets for projects and keep work product organized in multiple layered files
Understand client drafting preferences and requirements
Mentor others on interpreting drafting standards
Stay current on innovative practices and implement workflow adjustments to incorporate evolving best practices
Frequent direct communications with clients on large/complex projects
Lead technical client project meetings
Engage as industry expert on complex projects and pursuits
Lead technical aspects of project interviews
Mentor others on above
Efficiently perform the most complex and demanding drafting work without supervision
Review the work of others and mentor others on complex project tasks
Provide design guidance to designers
Oversee team operations and the daily workflow of the team
Organize workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks
Recruit and hire new employees
Implement training for new hires and identify training opportunities for current staff
Communicate information from leadership to employees and vice versa
Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching
Set goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company’s plans and vision and communicate them to employees
Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations
Decide on reward and promotion based on performance
Handle discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy
Qualification
Required
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Advanced Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu
Advanced Proficiency in one or both major civil engineering CAD Platforms (Autodesk and Civil 3D; or Microstation)
Mastery of technical fundamentals
Highly efficient at providing drafting solutions to the most complex challenges and guides others towards the same
Strong understanding of scopes, schedules, and budgets
Able to predict and deliver individual tasks within a set level of effort
Able to consistently meet budget and schedule expectations on projects
Expertly applies drafting standards with advanced skill
Understands client drafting preferences and requirements
Frequent direct communications with clients on large/complex projects
Efficiently performs the most complex and demanding drafting work without supervision
Years of experience required: 15 years
Driving is an essential job function or a valid driver's license is required to support legitimate business purposes
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to create and interpret graphs and understand statistical analysis
Preferred
Advanced Proficiency in Revit and/or other BIM software
Advanced Proficiency in OpenRoads
Associate's Degree
Autodesk/Bentley certifications
