Responsibilities

Perform schedule preventive maintenance task on various types of machinery and equipment according to established maintenance plan

Conduct routine inspections to identify potential problems, such as leaks, wear and tear, or irregularities in equipment operation

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and replacement of parts

Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, utilizing appropriate tools and techniques. Repair or replace defective components, such as motors, belts, gears, or electrical wiring, as needed

Support creation and annual review of Job Safety Analyses for maintenance related tasks

Actively participate and support the plant’s Safe Work Permit process

Support the creation and annual review of specific job procedures for maintenance tasks

Maintain a general working knowledge of how to troubleshoot problems through PLC’s

Assist other plant mechanics when required, based upon plant priorities as directed by the maintenance team leads or a member of the plant management team

Support continuous improvement engineer(s) and production departments by suggesting ways to improve the reliability and/or productivity of the equipment

Willing and able to adhere to all safety standards and wear all necessary personal protective equipment

Keep abreast of technological advancements and industry best practices in preventive maintenance techniques

Required

High school diploma or GED

Five years related work experience

Experience with industrial, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control systems

Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics

Strong organizational and time management abilities to prioritize tasks effectively

Good communication skills to interact with team members and report maintenance activities accurately

Ability to work equally well individually or in a team situation

Be able to follow and give high regard to safety rules and housekeeping procedures

Must pass company background and drug screen

Preferred

Technical certification or vocational training in maintenance or a related field
