Staff Geologist - Environmental Remediation (Denver)

Responsibilities

Prepare environmental investigation work plans, reports, feasibility studies, etc
Prepare Phase I environmental site assessments
Execute and guide environmental site assessments, including subsurface soil and low-flow groundwater sampling, monitoring well installation, soil characterization and logging, etc
Perform project and task management duties on remediation projects
Subcontractor contracting, scheduling, and management of field activities
Work closely with project teams and field personnel to complete and review projects within scope, budget and schedule
Other duties, as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in Geology or closely related field from an accredited program
Minimum of 4 years of related professional experience completing environmental investigations, analyzing and summarizing investigation data, preparing environmental reports, etc
Experience assisting with or conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and Phase II environmental site investigations
Demonstrated aptitude performing environmental field monitoring activities, including collection of soil and groundwater samples, logging soil borings, installing and developing groundwater monitoring wells, data analysis, and authoring reports
Experience in the field supporting remedial actions, including emergency response, excavation oversight, in-situ treatments, soils and waste management, site restoration, etc
Experience with and working knowledge of State and Federal Regulations
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training with annual updates
Self-motivation and the ability to self-manage and multi-task (write reports, analyze data, perform design tasks, etc.)
Strong problem-solving abilities, interpersonal skills, and ability to work within a team framework
Ability to travel and work in the field, up to 30%, as required

Preferred

Previous consulting experience is a plus
Experience investigating coal combustion residuals (CCR) at regulated facilities is strongly preferred
