Avionics Mechanical Integration Engineer II

The Avionics Mechanical Integration Engineer II will own the design and validation of secondary structures within the avionics system, collaborating with various engineering teams to ensure robust integration and operation.

Responsibilities

Own the packaging, design, analysis, test, and validation of secondary structure within the Terran R Avionics system. Secondary structure includes trays, brackets, dynamic isolation, thermal management, and environmental protection components
Collaborate with Avionics, Fluids, Dynamics, Thermal, Structures, and Vehicle Integration engineers to design robust secondary structure that meets mission requirements
Perform modal and structural analysis of hardware to static, dynamic, and thermal environments
Utilize 3D modeling and 2D drafting packages to deliver detailed designs with considerations for production and test
Validate designs for flight through rapid prototyping, analysis, and test campaigns

Required

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a full cycle mechanical or structural design engineering role
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
Experience with 3D computer aided design (CAD) software
Experience with structural and thermal analysis, including finite element analysis methods
Demonstrated project ownership and accountability with complex, multi-disciplinary technical projects

Preferred

Proficient with NX/Teamcenter CAD package
Proficient with Ansys and/or FEMAP FEA packages
Applied knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
Experience with packaging and design of Avionics and/or vibration isolated systems
