The Senior Field Engineer is responsible for providing technical support and performance improvement for power plants, overseeing project management and outage management for assigned projects.

Responsibilities

Provide outage planning, management, and oversight for assigned projects

Analyze plant and fleet O&M performance data and identify improvement opportunities. In coordination with Plant Management, recommend improvements (i.e., capital improvements, technologies, and/or processes) to plant owners for further development. When contracted, provide technical direction to implement these improvements

Lead complex client engagements, while maintaining a high degree of customer satisfaction and displaying commercial acumen that supports department financial goals

Manage and conduct technical analysis of operational performance, maintenance and diagnostic data to identify and communicate abnormal conditions, lead root cause investigations, recommend effective corrective actions and identify potential cost savings. (Troubleshoot plant performance issues)

Oversee improvement initiatives such as reliability centered maintenance (RCM) initiatives to identify and develop improvements to predictive, preventive, and spare inventory maintenance programs for increased reliability and availability

Provide management and oversight for plant projects as requested

Required

Bachelor of Science Degree in an engineering discipline is desired

Eight to ten years' experience in power plant operations and maintenance, design, trouble-shooting, and/or performance evaluation

A minimum of four years' experience as Maintenance Manager, Plant Engineer, or equivalent position is preferred

Operations, maintenance and/or engineering experience with gas and steam turbines, large power boilers, and fuel handling systems desired, along with background in the construction and start-up of power plants

Experience with project scheduling and budgeting

Must have outage planning and project management experience

Must have demonstrated capability to consult with power plant clients in one or more of the following areas: plant reliability, maintenance engineering, outage management, design engineering, thermal performance modeling, or operations and maintenance assessment

Strong abilities to communicate both orally and in writing, knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, project management, and performance monitoring software are required

Bachelors or better in Engineering or related field
