Responsibilities
Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document functional requirements for Disability/Absence Benefits products
Lead discussions around claims administration, eligibility verification, claims status tracking, and reporting processes
Analyze and translate business needs into functional specifications, especially for systems like FINEOS and ClaimVantage
Create detailed documentation such as Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Specifications (FSDs), process flows, and data mappings
Collaborate with developers and QA teams to support system configuration, interface development, and user acceptance testing
Understand and validate claims eligibility data, status feeds, and reporting outputs, ensuring alignment with business requirements
Work closely with technical teams to consume or expose APIs related to claims data and external system integrations
Facilitate cross-functional workshops and requirement sessions to align on business processes and system capabilities
Support FINEOS and ClaimVantage system enhancements, configuration changes, and integration projects
Conduct gap analysis, root cause analysis, and impact assessments for proposed changes
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and support sprint planning, story grooming, and backlog refinement
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or related discipline
Experience as a Business Analyst in the insurance industry, with specific focus on Disability and Absence Benefits
Working knowledge of Claims Eligibility Data, Claims Status Feeds, and reporting outputs
Working experience with FINEOS (Claims, Billing, or Policy modules)
Strong communication and documentation skills with an ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
Familiarity with system configuration, UAT coordination, and test case development
Ability to work across teams and drive consensus on business requirements
Preferred
Experience with ClaimVantage or other claims administration platforms is a strong plus
Exposure to or experience working with APIs and data integrations
