Learning Technology Specialist

Responsibilities

Assist students via scheduled appointments, drop in visits, email correspondence, and other communication channels and maintain accurate tracking data and notes within Navigate360 for student appointments and referrals
Serve as a resource for students, empowering them to engage with faculty and utilize key resources (Self-Service, Navigate360, and Canvas) and student services such as advising, financial aid, career services, and access and disability services
Create videos and documents to support students as they utilize the technology used in the classroom
Create, maintain, and implement process documents to support students and faculty in the classroom
Lead the development and/or enhancement of workflows, policies, and tools
Develop, facilitate and provide training and development to the campus community in a variety of formats, to include professional development days, virtual trainings, tutorials, seminars, and faculty and employee meetings
Responsible for collecting and analyzing data, identifying trends, and creating reports. Utilize data to inform changes to resources, services, and tools
Contribute to long-term planning, goal setting, and participates in assessment of library and academic support services and resources
Create promotional materials for student technology support and advertise with the campus community, which includes an in-person and online presence
Organize and execute workshops and trainings to engage students in learning institutional software platforms, and various other technologies
Provide targeted intervention services to students to help address technology needs hindering their success
Provide one-on-one coaching that supports student agency with their technology skills and familiarity with the technology tools utilized in class
Collaborate with departments across the college to identify gaps and opportunities to support the development and implementation of innovative technology use and academic support of students
Foster a positive, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all students and ensure that students receive a welcoming and efficient service
Assist with supporting and giving direction to student employees
Provide input and collaborate in the selection of collection and library resources
Create subject, course, and assignment-related research guides (LibGuides)
Play a role in campus-wide enrollment and retention events and programs
Participate in relevant training and professional development services to effectively support student academic success and retention
Participate in appropriate professional development trainings and associations to stay informed of technological advancements and best practices in the area of learning technology
Work collaboratively with others (e.g., supervisor, college leadership, colleagues, stakeholders, vendors, and student employees) to accomplish functions and responsibilities
Provide back-up coverage for circulation functions
Assume additional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or higher-level administration

Required

Associate's degree from regionally accredited institution
Relevant work experience in the field of technology, teaching, academic support, and/or library science

Preferred

Bachelor's degree from regionally accredited institution in technology, education, or library
Higher education or community college experience
Experience in tutoring, teaching, or academic support
Bilingual
