Technical Strategy Manager
Delta Electronics Americas is a global leader in energy-efficient solutions, seeking a Technical Strategy Manager to lead international standard development efforts. This role involves coordinating standardization initiatives, aligning technical standards with business goals, and influencing international technology standards through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with internal experts to assess the technical feasibility of emerging technologies and architectures and contribute to drafting international standards
Coordinate internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies, standards organizations, and industry consortia, to ensure alignment and engagement
Work closely with patent and IP teams to develop strategies that synchronize patent portfolio development with international standard trends
Track the development of relevant standards and ensure timely responses to calls for contributions, ballots, and proposals
Facilitate participation in international meetings, including preparation of technical documentation, position papers, and voting justifications
Represent the company in standardization forums and act as a liaison between internal experts and external stakeholders
Manage project documentation, meeting records, timelines, and deliverables to ensure traceability and accountability
Stay current with industry trends, regulatory movements, and competitive developments in standards-related activities
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Power Electronics, Energy Systems or a related technical field
3+ years of experience in R&D, technical project management, or standards development in the fields of power electronics, smart grid, or renewable energy
Strong knowledge of power conversion systems, and energy storage systems standards
Familiarity with international standardization organizations such as IEC, IEEE, or regional bodies
Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—across diverse audiences including engineers, executives, and external partners
Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail and follow-through
Preferred
Experience participating in or leading standardization efforts at national or international levels
Understanding of patent pools, essential patents, and standards-related IP strategies
Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams and engage with technical and legal professionals
Experience drafting or reviewing standard documents for IEC TC/SCs or IEEE working groups
Bilingual ability in English and Chinese is a plus for cross-regional collaboration
