Responsibilities

You will lead efforts in research, development and implementation of new or improved thermal spray coatings for wear, thermal and corrosion protection
This role will design fixtures, masks, and application schemes (robot programs) for thermal spray components
You will be expected to prioritize work and prepare engineering plans than accurately convey work sequence, priority and resource requirements under little supervision
This role will work closely with Sales, Plant Customer Service and Global Marketing Network to engage and support the global customer base on current applications, growth opportunities, and customer issues
You will need to prepare documentation, reports and summaries to communicate project progress and results to internal and external customers

Required

bachelors' degree or higher in Material Science, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
minimum of 3 years of industry or academic-oriented thermal spray experience
knowledge related to thermal spray processing techniques (e.g. plasma, HVOF)
common material classes used in thermal spray and the functions/attributes of each material class
hands on experience in an industrial, aviation, automotive, or laboratory setting
expected to travel up to 25% of the time

Preferred

Master's or PhD in Material Science, Mechanical, or Inorganic Chemical Engineering
