The role involves conducting research on liver cancer disparities and assessing cancer risks for HCC patients, including data collection and analysis, as well as publishing scientific manuscripts under the direction of the principal investigator.

Responsibilities
Conduct a data warehouse (DW) for cancer and HCC by utilizing publicly available data sources and data extracted from the electronic health record (EHRs) at MSM
Establish the clinical significance of HCC-related genes
Conduct active lab research on a semi-independent basis: design and evaluate experiments; conduct experiments, data collection, and analysis; present research progress at national and international and weekly lab meetings
Develop new ideas that promote current research; prepare and publish scientific manuscripts under the direction of the principal investigator (PI); apply for postdoctoral fellowships under the direction of Scientist (PI); attend and give seminars; bring new expertise to the research program
Perform other duties assigned by the PI, i.e., train and oversee graduate students and participate in other laboratory activities
Qualification
Required
PhD or MD in biomedical science from an accredited college or university
Minimum of two (2) years of related experience
Expertise in molecular biology
Bioinformatics
GIS (Geographic Information Systems)
Drug molecular modeling
Immunological techniques
IHC
data analysis
Excellent organizational skills
Knowledge of computer applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Excellent English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills
Ability to collect and analyze data
Ability to work independently and as a team
Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to set priorities and excellent time management skills
Ability to work productively with diverse populations; show respect and sensitivity for cultural differences

Advanced data analytics experience
