Dow Jones is seeking a Vice President of Analytics with a proven track record leading high performing analytics teams that foster data-informed business decisions at all levels. The role involves shaping and executing the analytics and insights strategy to provide critical data-driven insights across various brands and business sectors.

Responsibilities

Build, lead and inspire a high-performing team of data analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning
Drive the development of executive-facing data products, giving our C-suite the data and insights they need to run the business
Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights, and join stakeholders in the room as a key partner to make strategic decisions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, news, sales, and finance and ensure we have a consistent and correct view of complex business dynamics
Champion and scale a self-service analytics model, empowering business teams with the tools and data literacy needed to make informed decisions independently
Evaluate and select technologies and data tools to support shipping high quality analytics
Establish analytics best practices, ensuring effective data governance, quality, and security standards are maintained
Own the analytics roadmap, defining strategic priorities and aligning resource allocation to maximize business impact
Build and model a culture of excellence, inclusivity, and innovation

Required

12+ years in analytics or data science, with at least 5+ years of senior leadership experience managing and developing leaders
Degree in a quantitative field (statistics, computer science, economics, etc) or equivalent experience
Experience leading high performing analytics or data science teams, ideally as head of the function
A proven track record of influencing C-suite and cross-functional leaders (e.g., Product, Marketing, Newsroom) to shape business strategy with clear, actionable insights
Deep understanding of the modern data stack and analytics toolkit (e.g., SQL, Python/R, cloud data warehouses, BI/visualization platforms, A/B testing frameworks)
Deep expertise in b2b and b2c subscription-based business models, with proven experience analyzing the full customer lifecycle (acquisition, engagement, retention, and churn) to drive revenue growth
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Preferred

Experience in the media or publishing industry is a strong plus
