Responsibilities

Assists supervisor and department staff members with a variety of support duties as assigned
Performs research to support business systems projects
Maintains documentation relating to business systems projects
Assists users with the proper use of business systems software
Applies best practices to ensure data quality and integrity
Performs related duties as assigned

Required

Current enrollment in college level courses at an accredited college or university
College transcripts/proof of enrollment must be provided prior to appointment
Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Possess office skills
Basic understanding of HTML and web development
Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service abilities
Attention to detail
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced office environment
Availability to work a minimum of 12 hours per week
Knowledge of computer operating systems/software
Knowledge of basic website development
Knowledge of business English, spelling and grammar
Knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment
Knowledge of personal computer operations
Knowledge of basic math principles
Knowledge of effective public relations/customer service principles, practices and techniques
Ability to utilize general office equipment such as telephone, fax, printers, copiers, and computers
Ability to learn and apply City policies, procedures, rules and regulations
Ability to conduct basic research, compile and analyze data and prepare accurate reports
Ability to maintain work effectiveness and meet deadlines with frequent changes in workload and the priority of assignments
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
Ability to provide quality customer service
High School Diploma (or GED)

Preferred

Currently pursuing a major or minor in a technology-related field
General office, public contact, and/or government-related experience highly desirable
