Psychologist - Autism Center
Akron Children's Hospital is dedicated to building a diverse workforce and is seeking a pediatric/child clinical psychologist to join their Autism Center team. The role involves conducting evaluations for children with neurodevelopmental disorders and offers opportunities for research, training, and interprofessional collaboration.
Health Care
Responsibilities
Conducting evaluations with the Autism Diagnostic Clinic (ADC) service
Evaluating a wide range of patients, from toddlers through older adolescents
Collaborating with clinical psychologists, psychometrics, speech language pathologists, and developmental pediatricians
Providing individual and group intervention services alongside mental health therapists, ABA therapists, and ABA behavior technicians
Engaging in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research
Providing training and supervision opportunities
Working closely with pediatric residents and fellows training in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, Child Psychiatry, and several medical subspecialties
Teaching medical students through collaboration with Northeast Ohio Medical University
Qualification
Required
doctorate degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in clinical, counseling, or educational psychology from an APA-accredited doctoral program
license eligibility in the State of Ohio
strong interest in the practice of evidence-based pediatric psychology
Preferred
completion of an APA-accredited internship (child or pediatric emphasis preferred)
