Process Improvement Engineer

The Process Improvement Engineer will be responsible for a variety of manufacturing process engineering and production activities, focusing on implementing Lean Manufacturing principles and coordinating process improvements.

Responsibilities

Coordinate & implement Lean Manufacturing principles across the department’s material flow paths, and must gain a complete view and understanding of the area's manufacturing process to be successful
Primarily focus on tactical projects in the areas of safety, recovery improvement, training, and production
Coordinate efforts on process improvements, including capital projects, reliability excellence, and will support and lead the execution of problem-solving efforts related to process and machine improvements
While this role works primarily daytime shifts M-F, the incumbent must be flexible to work off-shifts as needed to support the functions of this role

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Metallurgical, Industrial, Ceramics or Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited institution
1 year of Manufacturing experience
Experience with the application of lean manufacturing principles in a manufacturing setting
Ability to identify and help resolve process-related problems
Good oral and written communication skills in a variety of settings (shop floor, peers, plant leadership, etc)
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. 730, et seq.) and/or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Authorizations from the relevant government agency may be required to meet export control compliance requirements

Preferred

3 years manufacturing experience in the metals or similar industry
The ability to engage with employee at all levels of the organization
Strong business, technical, computer, and analytical skills (from educational background and/or manufacturing experience.)
