Responsibilities

Assist with all aspects of respiratory care and sleep center operations

Provide patient education utilizing respiratory care and sleep center-specific protocols

Assess patient's respiratory status and develop individualized care plans

Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions, treatment options, and proper use of respiratory equipment

Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care

Sleep Education: To be completed within 1 year of employment

Required

Education: Graduate of an accredited school for Respiratory Care required

Successful completion of a sleep technology program

Credential to be completed within one year of employment

Licenses/Certification: Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications

Certified or Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care

Licensed to practice respiratory care in the State of Colorado

Preferred

Experience: At least five years' experience in the acute Respiratory Care medicine to include: General Floor Care, Emergent Medical and Trauma Stabilization/Treatment, Newborn/NICU Stabilization; Cardiopulmonary Diagnostics and Pulmonary and Cardiac Rehabilitation preferred

1 year experience in the performance of sleep diagnostic and therapy studies preferred

Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to a certificate or associate degree with an emphasis in sleep technology OR successful completion of a sleep technology program associated with a state-licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency for all competencies required of a sleep technician preferred

Certification by a nationally recognized certification board and holds either the Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (PRSGT), or Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) credential to be completed within one year of employment
