Responsibilities

Provide classroom instruction in the Surgical Technology Program

Maintain currency in teaching discipline and trends in community college education

Perform other duties as assigned

Assist the agency or state government in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor

Certified Surgical TechnologistClinical experienceClinical instruction experienceCPR BLS certificationTeaching experienceTechnology in classroomCommunication skills

Required

Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree from an accredited Surgical Technology Program

Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification

A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience within the past 5 years

Experience providing clinical instruction in an AAS Surgical Technology Program

Current CPR BLS Healthcare Provider certification

Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to work with students of varying abilities from diverse backgrounds

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Surgical Technology or comparable field

Prior teaching experience in a Surgical Technology Program

Experience using technology in the classroom
