NEOGOV is seeking a Finance Clerk I to join the Clerk's Finance team at Seminole County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller. The role involves processing financial transactions, preparing journal entries, and assisting with account reconciliations and year-end tax documents.

Responsibilities

Prepares, reviews, and approves varies journal entries
Posts cash audits daily
Performs day-to-day processing of financial transactions to the general ledger
Performs monthly account reconciliations
Processes stop payments, including voiding checks
Processes NSF, including tracking and notification to check maker
Assists with preparing 1099 and any other year end tax documents
Reviews vendor uncashed checks, notifies customers, then remits to state as unclaimed funds
Reviews Pcard support for proper documentation
Prepares schedules for year-end financial audit
Performs other duties of a similar nature/level
Assists team leader as necessary

Qualification

Accounting/bookkeeping experienceRecordkeeping practicesGovernmental budgeting knowledgeData manipulation skillsProfessional interaction skillsEnglish fluencyOrganizational skills

Required

High school diploma or its equivalent (G.E.D)
Two years of previous accounting/bookkeeping experience
Valid Florida driver's license
Knowledge of basic recordkeeping and bookkeeping practices and procedures
Basic knowledge of governmental budgeting and purchasing procedures
Skill in organizing and prioritizing work
Skill in the operation of computer software and hardware sufficient to enter, retrieve, and manipulate data
Ability to fluently read, interprets, speak, write, and understand the English Language
Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, coworkers, customers, and others
