Responsibilities

Assisting in installing, maintaining and repairing electric overhead and underground systems; laying pipe, hanging transformers, driving trucks
Installs transformers; repairs street lights
Works closely with line technicians daily
Stocks truck with materials needed for duties
Assists in installation of underground primary and secondary wires
Removes trees and brush from work area; use of chainsaw
Drive trucks frames poles; installs hardware and pulls service wires from ladder
Required to be on stand-by, or; work emergency calls
Performs related tasks as required
Performs daily and monthly reports on equipment

Required

Graduation from high school or GED equivalent
Some experience in the construction and maintenance of electrical distribution systems
Valid state of North Carolina driver's license
Ability to pass the Lineman Career Helper Course
