Responsibilities
Help us build out the next generation of Object Storage in a globally distributed system written in Rust
Own your code from inception to release
Delivering solutions at all layers of the software stack to empower Cloudflare customers
Write a design document that outlines how you plan to solve a specific problem
Implement a new feature
Fix a bug that's impacting our users
Qualification
Required
Help build out the next generation of Object Storage in a globally distributed system written in Rust
Own your code from inception to release, delivering solutions at all layers of the software stack to empower Cloudflare customers
Write a design document that outlines how you plan to solve a specific problem, implement a new feature, or fix a bug that's impacting our users
Interact with a variety of languages and technologies including Rust, Go, and TypeScript
Preferred
Systems-level programming skills with languages like Rust, Go, or C is strongly preferred
A solid understanding of distributed systems concepts such as consistency, consensus, data replication, and partition tolerance
Experience with distributed storage systems like CEPH is a strong plus
Solid experience with Observability using tools like grafana or Datadog
Some experience building and maintaining high-throughput, low-latency systems
Experience with storage systems, networking, or large-scale cloud infrastructure is a strong plus
Some DevOps/SRE experience operating distributed backend systems at scale using Salt is a plus
