Responsibilities
Develop advanced motor control algorithms and contribute to other control development needs
Develop and maintain simulation models for control validations and studies
Test and troubleshoot in the lab and on our vehicles
Collaborate with electrical, mechanical and system engineers to contribute to requirements, development and validation
Identify, report, and track software bugs; analyze logs to troubleshoot issues
Qualification
Required
MS or PhD degree in Controls, Electrical Engineering, or related field, with a focus on motor controls and drives
Strong background in controls of PMSM and inverters
Practical experience with motor control algorithms like FOC and DTC, PWM strategies, etc
Hands on experience testing motor drive systems
Understanding of equipment like dynamometers, power supplies and power meters
Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, including model-based design, Stateflow, and developing automation scripts
Familiar embedded controller and programming languages such as C and Python
Familiar with automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN) and tools such as Vector CANalyzer, CANape, etc
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and continuous integration workflows
