Grants and Funding Analyst

Responsibilities

Proactively develop briefing documents, funding checklists, and supporting materials to assist client managers in pursing funding for their clients. Create and maintain internal documentation templates, checklists, and process workflows for grant application processes
Identify, research, and evaluate potential local, state, and federal funding opportunities using both traditional and creative approaches to meet client needs
Write, edit, and submit persuasive, accurate, and timely grant applications aligned with client priorities, ensuring compliance with all funding requirements and deadlines
Proactively develop, manage, and implement individualized funding agendas for a diverse portfolio of clients, including cities, counties, special districts, and public agencies
Provide timely and responsive client service, with a commitment to addressing inquiries and advancing client objectives within a 24 hour timeframe
Collaborate and coordinate with other TPA team members to effectively leverage expertise and resources in support of each client’s funding and advocacy agenda
Identify funding programs that can be utilized across multiple clients and proactively share opportunities firmwide to maximize impact and efficiency
Support business development efforts by clearly articulating TPA’s grant writing and funding advocacy services and contributing to proposals, presentations, and client meetings as needed
Actively participate in company-wide initiatives, including business development efforts, statewide conferences, training sessions, and other external events that advance TPA’s visibility and influence

Required

Strong ability to research, draft, and submit compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funding reports tailored to diverse funders including government agencies, foundations, and corporate donors
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate funding needs, public benefits, and policy alignment to secure external support and partnerships
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, coordinate with stakeholders, and meet tight deadlines with high attention to detail
Strong research skills to identify new funding opportunities, analyze RFPs, and align grant strategies with client goals and funding trends
Understanding of public agencies, municipal funding processes, and government relations to craft grants that reflect community priorities and regulatory compliance
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
College degree or equitable professional experience required
