Associate Staff Research Engineer

Responsibilities
Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to support the research and development of diagnostic and therapeutic devices and technologies, including building and testing prototypes and implementing and managing clinical studies
Supervises and mentors engineering students (undergraduate and graduate) in research projects
Identifies and pursues new funding opportunities for ongoing and future projects. Prepares and submits grants, abstracts, and manuscripts to secure funding and disseminate research findings
Presents scientific findings at engineering and clinical conference
Creates high-quality figures and presentation slides to effectively communicate technologies and research outcomes
Submits intellectual property disclosures and assist in drafting and assembling provisional patents
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree Engineering required
1-3 years relevant work or leadership experience required
1-3 years Demonstrated experience in prototype design and CAD software required
Knowledge or experience working with sensors and related technologies
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or similar
Genuine passion and enthusiasm for contributing to the development of innovative technologies that improve outcomes for infants and children
Skilled in the use of routine laboratory equipment. Proficiency in use of relevant tools or equipment needed for the department
Ability to gather, interpret, and analyze data to identify patterns, trends, and insights, allowing for informed decision-making and problem-solving
Ability to conduct systematic analysis and develop solutions to complex problems
Ability to plan, execute, and monitor product development projects, including defining project scope, managing timelines, allocating resources, leading teams, mitigating risks, and effectively communicating with stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the desired quality standards
Ability to compose written material with a succinct message
Preferred
Master's Degree Engineering preferred
Master's Degree Biomedical Engineering preferred
1-3 years Experience in technical writing, grant writing, and manuscript preparation preferred
1-3 years Experience in writing embedded code preferred
1-3 years Expertise in 3D printing and related technologies preferred
