Sr Avionics RF Test Engineer

The Sr Avionics RF Test Engineer will be responsible for developing frameworks and infrastructure for testing RF and Telemetry Avionics components, collaborating with hardware and software engineers, and creating test plans to support regulatory activities.

Responsibilities

5+ years of experience developing frameworks and infrastructure to conduct qualification and acceptance testing of RF and Telemetry Avionics components on the Terran R launch vehicle
5+ years designing equipment to facilitate Avionics component testing: simulation circuits, auxiliary test equipment, test harnesses, mechanical fixtures and enclosures, and system validation tools
Work with hardware design engineers and software engineers to derive test requirements and methodologies
Create and maintain test plans and procedures for avionics systems that support regulatory and licensing activities with government and regulatory bodies such as the FCC, ITU, and USSF
Integrate, commission, and operate test rack hardware and software to support component- and system-level functional testing

Required

5+ years of experience developing frameworks and infrastructure to conduct qualification and acceptance testing of RF and Telemetry Avionics components on the Terran R launch vehicle
5+ years designing equipment to facilitate Avionics component testing: simulation circuits, auxiliary test equipment, test harnesses, mechanical fixtures and enclosures, and system validation tools

Preferred

Familiarity with telemetry standards such as IRIG-106
Experience designing active RF electronics such as PAs, LNAs, and/or radio transceivers
Experience with a schematic capture & PCB design tool such as Altium Designer
Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or MATLAB for data acquisition/recording and analysis
Familiarity with wire harness design
Familiarity with CAD tools such as NX
