Assistant or Associate Director of Development, Student Affairs
The University of Virginia (UVA) is seeking a highly qualified candidate to join the Student and Family Philanthropy team as an Assistant or Associate Director of Development. This role is responsible for generating philanthropic support for the Division of Student Affairs by managing a portfolio of donors and developing comprehensive solicitation strategies.
Higher Education
Responsibilities
Developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising plan to include special events, communications, annual campaigns, and major gift strategies
Travelling nationally to identify, cultivate, and solicit prospects
Collaborating with other fundraisers in the department and across the University in overall relationship building of alumni, parents, and friends to ensure a coordinated approach for prospects and donors and to develop and implement cultivation and solicitation plans
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree
At least three years of related experience for Assistant Director, or five years of related experience for the Associate Director level
Exceptional communication skills
A high degree of personal integrity
Ability to keep the big picture in focus while attending to small details
Demonstrated record of sound judgment and professionalism
Experience using data to evaluate and plan
Preferred
Experience in higher education development with a track record of closing five-figure (Assistant) or six-figure (Associate) gifts
Strong affinity for the student experience at UVA
