Mechanical Engineer III-IV and Renewable Analyst

KiloNewton is searching for an ambitious individual who is experienced as a renewable energy engineer, primarily focused on solar and renewable projects. The ideal candidate will leverage their professional skills in analysis, design, and leadership to prepare analysis, calculations, drawings, reports, etc. for project deliverables in solar utility design, focusing on renewable energy optimization.

Responsibilities

Assess project requirements and prepare proposals and SOWs
Assess the impact and feasibility of site due diligence, from preliminary to the final engineering design
Prepare drawings and schematic designs based on project requirements
Assess energy requirements and create solar/wind analyses for energy assessments
Study and assess drawings, plans, specifications of products and projects
Creation and analyses of complex assemblies and site-specific products
Creating and managing prototypes and test plans for components and systems
Leading interactions with customers, construction teams, and outside project developers, engineers, and consultants
Manage deliverables on time and within the budget
Working closely on designs, plans and projects with clients, engineers, and other professionals
Developing design ideas using CAD and FEA software
Analyzing dynamic and static requirements in structures, and optimization of the structure
Using computer simulations to predict how products will react under different conditions
Inspecting structures and systems, and recommending options for repairs, replacement, or demolition
Making sure that projects meet legal guidelines, environmental directives, and health and safety requirements
Giving progress reports and presentations to clients and senior managers
Adhere to the best practices, standards and procedures of the company

Required

Expertise in field of study to independently design and analyze renewable energy projects
Hands-on experience testing and assembling prototype and test setups
Knowledge of principles, practices, and methods related to FEA/CAD
Expertise in Solidworks/Inventor/3D CAD, FEA and renewables analytic software
Experience with dynamic analyses, both theoretical and software-based
Understanding of applications in solar structural design, including wind (tunnel) static and dynamic loads, snow, corrosion design requirements
Experience in PVsyst, Plant Predict, and/or similar solar analysis software
High proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Project
Demonstrated customer relationship and people skills
Demonstrated excellent communications skills (written, verbal and presentation)
Demonstrated excellent organizational skills and be detail oriented
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Structural, Solar, a related technical discipline or related experience required
4+ years experience in solar/renewable energy engineering required, position and pay based on industry experience

Preferred

Master's Degree preferred
