Digital Accessibility- Graduate College Aide
The City of New York's Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) is seeking a Digital Accessibility College Aide to support their efforts in ensuring web content is accessible. The role involves reviewing applications and websites for compliance with accessibility standards and collaborating with teams to improve accessibility.

Review applications and websites for compliance with accessibility standards
Collaborate with the team to provide recommendations for improving accessibility
Review public facing content (in MS Word, PowerPoint, Adobe PDF, etc.) for compliance with accessibility standards
Execute recommendations to improve accessibility
Participate in training workshops and learning opportunities
Qualification
Required
Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school. Employment is conditioned upon continuance as a student in a college or graduate school
For Assignment Level II: Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or closely related field, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study
For Assignment Level III: Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school with a specific course of study in information technology, computer science, management information systems, data processing, or other area relevant to the information technology project(s) assigned, including or supplemented by 9 semester credits in an acceptable course of study
Maximum tenure for all Assignment Levels in the title of College Aide is 6 years
No student shall be employed more than half-time in any week in which classes in which the student is enrolled are in session
Students may be employed full-time during their vacation periods
Preferred
Knowledge of digital accessibility requirements (WCAG) is a plus
Familiarity with disabilities or a willingness to learn
A technical, logical thought process
Ability to work independently and with diverse populations
College major: Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development and Design, User Center/Experience Design
Experience with Microsoft Applications and Programming
