Shop Floor Controller (Direct Hire)

As a Shop Floor Controller, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of production by managing schedules, resolving issues, and collaborating with various teams to optimize efficiency and delivery performance.

Responsibilities
Import fresh production orders into APS each day to keep operations current
Build and refine a detailed production schedule that ensures efficiency and flow
Identify and resolve capacity constraints, partnering with production management to stay on track
Monitor delivery performance and drive improvements where needed
Support lead assemblers by keeping Shop Floor Management (SFM) resources accurate and up to date
Track progress in real time and work with assemblers or management to address delays quickly
Stay flexible and ready to adapt to rush orders or last-minute resource shortages
Check material availability and release production orders with precision
Verify SAP bookings and correct discrepancies promptly
Close production orders accurately upon completion
Investigate and clear system errors (such as COGI) to maintain clean, reliable data
Collaborate with Planning to resolve errors or missing information in production paperwork
Oversee material flow and coordinate with Logistics to maintain steady operations
Flag production delays immediately and communicate them using the delay list
Manage escalations and prioritize express orders across multiple work cells when needed
Participate in cross-functional projects to improve manufacturing operations
Drive process improvements that make workflows smarter, faster, and more reliable
Create and deliver performance reports that inform decision-making (efficiency, on-time delivery, etc.)
Investigate performance issues and work with management on solutions
Continue to develop your own expertise through training opportunities—and raise the bar by sharing knowledge with others
Take on other duties that contribute to keeping our operations thriving
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma
Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within a production environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment
Proactive communicator with excellent verbal and written skills
High attention to detail and accuracy in all work
Strong IT skills, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, SAP, and APS
Strong teamwork mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally
Critical thinker who can analyze, prioritize, and plan effectively
Hands-on, solutions-oriented approach to challenges
Comfortable with change and able to adapt quickly
Customer-focused, with tact and diplomacy in working with peers and stakeholders
Open-minded and culturally aware, with respect for diverse backgrounds
Must be able to perform all essential tasks listed with or without reasonable accommodations
Ability to work effectively under demanding and sometimes stressful conditions
Preferred
Technical Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
Familiarity with SAP, ERP, APS (Advanced Planning & Scheduling), and manufacturing/logistics processes preferred
Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish is a plus
