Curriculum & Program Developer for Respiratory Therapy– AAS
Olympic College is seeking a Curriculum & Program Developer for the Respiratory Therapy Program to plan, design, and implement a new Associate in Arts and Science Degree. This role is crucial in ensuring the program meets accreditation standards, state licensure requirements, and workforce needs while promoting equitable access to healthcare education.

Responsibilities
Analyze clinical site availability, faculty recruitment potential, and infrastructure readiness
Prepare internal reports and recommendations for program viability
Design program curriculum in alignment with Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) standards
Develop course outlines, syllabi, and student learning outcomes
Identify appropriate clinical competencies and design lab/clinical experiences to support skill development
Develop documentation to support submission of the Letter of Intent and Accreditation Application to CoARC
Assist in aligning the program with state licensure requirements, National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credentialing standards, and institutional academic policies
Support preparation for initial site visits and institutional approvals
Establish an Advisory Committee composed of local RT professionals, healthcare employers, and academic stakeholders
Build clinical affiliation agreements with hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities for student placement
Serve as liaison with accrediting agencies, professional associations, and licensing bodies as needed
Identify and recommend facility, equipment, and technology needs for didactic, simulation, and clinical lab spaces
Collaborate with facilities and procurement teams to develop equipment and capital needs lists
Contribute to grant writing, budget development, and funding acquisition for program implementation and sustainability
Assist in preparing financial projections for staffing, equipment, and operational needs
Provide regular status reports to the Dean and senior leadership
Work collaboratively with instructional designers, faculty, and curriculum committees to align with college-wide standards
Prepare program documents for internal and external approval processes
Qualification
Required
Associate Degree in respiratory therapy
Possess an unencumbered, active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and state license (or eligibility)
Minimum 3 years of clinical experience as an RRT
Experience in program or curriculum development, preferably in higher education or healthcare training
Knowledge of CoARC accreditation standards and program design requirements
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in RT preferred
Master's Degree preferred
Teaching or leadership experience in a Respiratory Therapy program
Familiarity with community college systems and student support practices
Experience with grant writing and project management
Demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders and foster industry partnerships
