Adjunct Faculty, Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering

Responsibilities

Teach in person two to three times per week (depending on course)
Design a new course or adapt an existing course. This includes learning outcomes, support materials, and a course calendar
Create and maintain a Canvas course container
Assign papers, exams, projects, labs, and other deliverables, as appropriate
Grade in a timely manner
Hold office hours and meet with students, over Zoom or in person, to discuss grades, assignments and/or project status
Work with students and others to guarantee the best possible student experience
Attend quarterly school meetings and monthly faculty meetings, if requested to do so

Required

Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
Previous teaching experience
A commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment

PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
Experience with best practices including active learning and inclusive teaching
