Cranes, Doors, Platforms, and Elevator Operations Engineer

The Cranes, Doors, Platforms, and Elevator Operations Engineer will ensure the reliability and maintenance of critical equipment at Kennedy Space Center, develop work authorization documents, and provide troubleshooting support as necessary.

Responsibilities

Excellent communication, presentation, and customer interface skills with a proven ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment as required to coordinate and technically plan work activities including interorganizational support
Ability to lead multiple projects and priorities across the areas of responsibility
Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces
Must be able to read, follow and develop work instructions, interpret engineer drawings/schematics, follow and enforce strict work area rules and safety protocols
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if necessary
Must be able to travel to support position requirements
Will be required to climb stairs to access equipment for trouble shooting, work assignment assessments, engineering evaluations and other engineering applications
Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing

Required

High school diploma or equivalent; 15 years related experience
Excellent communication, presentation, and customer interface skills with a proven ability to work effectively and cooperatively in a team environment as required to coordinate and technically plan work activities including interorganizational support
Ability to lead multiple projects and priorities across the areas of responsibility
Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces
Must be able to read, follow and develop work instructions, interpret engineer drawings/schematics, follow and enforce strict work area rules and safety protocols
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if necessary
Must be able to travel to support position requirements
Will be required to climb stairs to access equipment for trouble shooting, work assignment assessments, engineering evaluations and other engineering applications
Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing
Will be required to wear hearing protection, eye protection and other associated personal protective equipment
Physical requirements are sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures
Must be able to work in tight confined space areas
Must be dependable and punctual
Needs to have clear, concise, and accurate communication skills
Must have ability to work well with office staff and customer representatives
Must possess and maintain a valid CDL with endorsements Florida driver's license
Must pass a federal background investigation
Must comply with all 'drug free workplace' requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer and the company, which requires drug testing for use of illegal drugs by employees in sensitive positions

Preferred

Experience with troubleshooting PLC based systems to include motor drives
Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (Solumina and Maximo) is highly desired
Government security clearance may be required in the future
