Senior Space Systems Engineer

They are seeking a Senior Space Systems Engineer to provide engineering support, technical advice, and assistance throughout the acquisition life cycle for various space programs, ensuring national security and operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities
Provide space acquisitions, engineering, operations, and technical advice and assistance for all projects and programs to support any stage of the acquisition life cycle
Support program acquisition efforts for advanced technology, future concept development, and integration activities
Advise and assist the government on cost, schedule, and performance issues
Revise or provide draft Joint Capabilities Integrated Development System (JCIDS) and acquisition documentation to the applicable government program manager
Support the presentation of products to internal and external customers
Documentation includes Initial Capability Documents, Interface Control Documents, Capability Development/Production/Requirements Documents, Milestone documentation, Acquisition Strategies, Analysis of Alternatives, Concept of Operations, Memorandums of Agreement/Understanding, Technical/Systems Requirement Documents, Defense Acquisition Board documentation, Technical Evaluations, System Specifications, enabling concepts, training material, briefings, white papers, reports, and analysis results
Provide a draft SME-level technical and/or programmatic status report of any individual program or of the portfolio upon request by the government
Identify areas of improvement in acquisition processes and provide actionable recommendations
Assist in building and maintaining a government risk program, including risk identification, process definition, and detailed technical risk mitigation plans
Maintain awareness of current program schedule, monitor acquisition implementation, report requirement shortfalls, and provide a program assessment based on identified risks
Combine and correlate program execution data with program baselines to maintain and update acquisition reports
Advise the government program manager on technical engagements such as technical interchange meetings, design reviews, program conferences, video teleconferences, telecons, working groups, and informational meetings
Maintain broad awareness and understanding of all programs and technology development efforts in execution across the applicable portfolio
Assist integrated product teams and working groups and establish customer and contractor interfaces
Provide technical and operational insight to support mission protection, operations, and mission data assessments
Recommend solutions for technical anomalies
Develop, deliver, review, and evaluate impact analysis, audits, studies, compliance inspections, and readiness reviews
Qualification
Required
Active TS with SCI eligibility
MA/MS degree required
Individual must be a SME Recognized Industry Leader
Must be expert in space system development and operations
Must be expert in maturing space system technologies through all TRL levels
Must be expert in space system signature measurements, predictions, and sensor development
