Post-Doctoral Fellow/Trainee

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow/Trainee to join the Kohler laboratory within the Cell Therapy Research Group. The role involves conducting mechanistic and translational research on CAR T cell biology in leukemia models, leading research projects, and supervising students and research assistants.

Responsibilities

Responsible for development and conduct of project(s) within the scope of funded and future projects
Maintain accurate lab notebook and primary data
Work independently with supervision from Dr. Kohler
Present data to lab and group lab meetings
Write project summaries and manuscripts
Supervision of students and Professional Research Assistants within the lab

Required

Doctor in Philosophy (PhD) in Immunology, Cancer Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field in the bio-medical sciences
Experience in cell culture and basic molecular biology techniques
Experience in standard computer software related to writing, data analysis, and data presentation
Willingness to conduct in vivo experiments in mouse models
Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check
PhD level knowledge and understanding of basic cellular and molecular biology
Expertise in cell culture techniques
Expertise in basic molecular biology techniques
Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
Able to work independently within a large collaborative environment
Able to troubleshoot and design experiments
Ability to follow and maintain protocols when handling hazardous materials
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to maintain an accurate lab notebook and data
Proficiency in scientific writing and presentation of scientific work
Ability to design and troubleshoot experiments, and carry out projects with a high level of independence

Preferred

Prior experience in Immunology research, particularly T cell research
Prior experience in tumor immunology and/or immunotherapy research
Prior experience with in vivo mouse experiments
Proficiency with flow cytometry
Prior experience with CRISPR screens and RNA-Seq
Proficiency in bioinformatics and analysis of large data sets
Prior experience in signal transduction research
