Retail Financial Analyst

Responsibilities

Support Dealers (Controllers/Business Managers) to submit accurate and on time monthly financial statements, which will in turn lead to database maintenance, KPI tracking, and monitoring dealer compliance to agreements and operating guidelines. Analyst will pro-actively call on dealers, to solicit outstanding financial statements, correct deficient reporting and advise on the Accounting Manual. Will require knowledge of the Business Management System, GAAP and the main functions of the dealership accounting reporting and close process
Work across the department and cross departmentally to ensure accurate and current dealer records. Assist management to improve the accuracy of financial reporting by employing simple account audits and review system validations. Track and monitor specific dealer’s or dealer group’s performance and provide recommendations. Assist in identifying and developing areas for improvement in KUS Accounting Manual, Financial Statement, Operating Guidelines and the Business Plan/Pro Forma
Perform data analysis, industry research (benchmarks) and reporting support for accurate and timely monthly financial reports and insightful performance analysis summaries as needed. Employ correlation analysis to determine KUS’s policies and program (as well as market conditions) effect on dealer performance and profitability
Actively participate in Retail Development monthly accounting cycle for budget management, dealer billing, requisitions, vendor payment and program tracking. Provide planning and logistical execution support for various meetings and events as needed. Assist management with ad hoc administrative support, such as mail merge, record maintenance, process and procedures documentation, and updates to dealer
Respond to legal discoveries and request for composite statements and other dealer performance records

Required

Bachelor's degree in business management or related major from an accredited college/university or equivalent work experience required
Minimum three to five years in accounting or financial analysis experience
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills in Windows environment
Strong graphical skills for visual presentation (PPT) of performance metrics
Good understanding of financial reporting, accounting systems and month-end close
Ability to interpret dealership financial statements and prioritize financial strengths and weaknesses
Superior organizational ability
Advanced written and oral communication skills

Preferred

Automotive industry experience preferred (OEM or Retailer)
