Sheet Metal Technician (Metal Cutting)

Responsibilities
Prepare, run, setup, and operate the Shear Machine
Prepare, shear, issue material electronically, and if needed submit RFPO
Manage Sheet Metal material inventory by accurately issuing material to provide material support to Waterjet, Punch Press, and Laser Machines
Receive incoming material and properly scan to the designated location
Responsible for overall area safety, delivery targets, and creative ways to increase product reliability, efficiency, and reduce overall cost
Understand blueprint reading and geometric tolerances and how they relate to the finished part
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalency certificate
3+ years of experience working with precision equipment (scales, calipers, height gauges, micrometers, etc.)
1+ years of experience with the setup and operation of JMT Shear Machine or any Shear Brand Machine
Must be able to work the following shifts: Monday to Friday, 5:00AM – 3:30PM
Must be willing to work overtime, and/or weekends as needed
Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching are generally required to perform the functions of this position
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
Preferred
Ability to meet daily/weekly production goals with critical time schedules
Ability to read blueprints and complete basic math
Ability to run and operate Shear Machine
Experience in material handling and production coordinating are essentials
Ability to manage the Sheet Metal material inventory i.e. receiving, submit RFPO, Shear, and issuing materials
Experience in operating Waterjet, Punch Press, and Laser Machines
