Responsibilities

Responsible for detailed design and development, and set-up for manufacturing processes and equipment through risk assessment, DOE (Design of Experiments) methods, solid modeling, mold flow analysis, tool design, and analytical testing

Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews for new products with internal engineers and designers, contract manufacturers, mold builders, material suppliers, and appropriate service suppliers

Develop, define and implement material, equipment and/or process enhancements that will improve product quality and yield, process sustainability, efficiency, and safety, including selection of appropriate materials and machinery, workstation design, production workflow analysis, lean manufacturing implementation and technical troubleshooting

Perform failure and assembly analysis for injection molded parts

Coordinate and execute validation processes (IQ, OQ and PQ); evaluate and track control process variation to maintain process control and drive optimization opportunities

Integrate new technologies to automate and optimize manufacturing processes, including programming and implementation of robots, collaborative arms, vision systems using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD); use PLC programming and control systems for CNC (computer numerical control) machines to enhance efficiency and improve overall production performance

Develop initial startup and process definition for all new injection molding tools

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial/Chemical/Plastics Engineering, plus 3 years in job offered or as Manufacturing/Process Engineer in injection molding processing

Process set-up, DOE, optimization, and troubleshooting for precision parts

Failure and assembly analysis for injection molded parts

Software: ANSYS, SolidWorks, AutoCAD
