Responsibilities

Reviews and evaluates title searches and title insurance risk factors and must be able to explain and communicate underwriting requirements to counsel for buyers, sellers and lenders on real estate transactions
Responsible for evaluating risk and exposures to determine acceptability of business
Ability to determine title insurance premiums, familiarity with terms and conditions based established rules, rates, and guidelines
Provides timely responses to inquiries and effectively communicates underwriting decisions
Performs a range of assignments and may lead projects within own discipline
Prepares and presents both in-person and virtual education seminars on various topical and timely real estate law and title issues
Is active and visible as subject matter expert in real estate law and title insurance in Texas by attending real estate industry and company functions as assigned
Solves moderately complex to complex problems and analyzes possible solutions using technical experience, judgement and precedents
Acts as a resource for colleagues, provides guidance to less experienced team members
Individual contributor working with limited oversight
Performs all other duties as assigned by management

Qualification

Required

Juris Doctor degree and admission to the Texas Bar
Typically requires 3+ years experience in real estate law with demonstrated real estate title knowledge
