In-House Corporate Counsel

Hillpointe is a fully integrated real estate development and investment management firm focused on developing market-rate workforce housing across the Sun Belt. They are seeking a skilled and business-oriented In-House Corporate Counsel to join their growing legal team, responsible for providing legal support in real estate transactions and corporate governance.

Responsibilities

Draft, review, and negotiate real estate and commercial agreements, including acquisition, financing, disposition and leasing of real property, construction contracts, and vendor agreements
Provide legal support across the full development life cycle, including acquisitions, entitlements, zoning, permitting, and financing
Manage due diligence processes for property and business matters, ensuring thorough legal risk assessment
Structure and maintain corporate entities for real estate holdings and advise on governance matters
Support real estate finance and lending initiatives, including refinancing and lender negotiations
Advise internal teams on employment, vendor, and operational agreements as needed
Prepare and coordinate execution of corporate agreements, employment disputes and related items
Ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local laws related to business, real estate, development, and investment activities
Oversee litigation, dispute resolution, and insurance-related claims in collaboration with outside counsel and in-house executives
Partner cross-functionally with executives, development, finance, and operations teams to align legal strategy with business goals
Stay informed of legal and regulatory trends impacting the real estate and development sectors

Required

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Admission to the Florida Bar in good standing
2–4 years of relevant experience in commercial real estate law, ideally with exposure to in-house legal work at a real estate development firm, business firm or within a specialized law practice related to our mission
Strong knowledge of real estate transactions, finance, regulatory compliance, zoning, land use, and corporate structure
Proven ability to draft and negotiate high-stakes legal agreements
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills
Business-minded, collaborative, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Preferred

Experience managing public-private partnerships, construction law matters, or institutional real estate investments
Familiarity with multifamily housing development and related regulatory considerations
Demonstrated ability to assess legal risk while delivering practical, strategic business solutions
