Grace Design Studios is seeking a Forensic Architect/Testifying Expert to join their team in Orlando, FL. The role involves preparing consulting agreements, assisting experts with research, organizing case files, and offering testimony as necessary for various cases.

Responsibilities

Prepare consulting agreements and set up contract summary sheets

Assist experts with research efforts as requested by them or the division director

Organizing case files/documents for research

Set up electronic case files

Prepare and/or monitor demonstrative exhibits as skill will allow

Assist in document storage and retrieval efforts

Participate in case marketing efforts

Monitor fee collection efforts for cases he or she is responsible for

Assist in maintaining the case database and case reference library

Offer testimony (depositions, arbitrations, trial etc.) if and when it is necessary for a particular case

Required

Minimum 4-year college degree in related field of architecture/engineering and or construction or equivalent (to be determined by division director)

Minimum 7-year experience in the architectural and/or construction fields (prior experience with similar forensic work is a plus)

Very familiar with the design and construction process and familiar with instruments of service used within same

Familiar with Building Codes

Basic understanding of destructive testing procedures

Computer literate in CAD software and three-dimensional design software such as Revit. Also literate in Word, Excel, Power Point

Good understanding of the English language with capacity for report writing and proof reading (knowledge of other languages may be an added plus)

Willing and capable to travel out of town on an as needed basis

Ability to work effectively with others to meet deadlines and handle occasional stress resulting therefrom
