Mechatronics Engineering and Industrial Systems Technology Instructor

Responsibilities
Instruct assigned technical courses using industry-relevant methods and in compliance with approved course outlines, syllabi, and program objectives
Clearly define course goals, grading criteria, and performance expectations at the beginning of each class or term
Provide hands-on guidance and technical support to students outside regular class hours when necessary
Evaluate student performance using practical, job-aligned assessments; submit grades promptly in line with college policies
Apply assessment tools and techniques appropriate to technical content and skill development
Maintain accurate records of student enrollment, attendance, lab participation, and grades, following institutional protocols
Maintain accurate advising records and meet regularly with advisees to support progress toward program and career goals
Assist with student registration and course planning each term
Refer students to appropriate campus resources for support with personal, financial, academic, or social concerns
Contribute to the development, evaluation, and revision of course outlines, learning objectives, and instructional materials to ensure alignment with industry standards
Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of technical curriculum and course content
Participate in department efforts to update and enhance programs based on evolving technologies and workforce needs
Assist in developing new technical programs aligned with industry demand and area expertise
Provide input to the lead instructor on selecting tools, equipment, repair needs, instructional materials, and scheduling of classrooms and labs to support effective hands-on training
Serve on college committees and complete additional duties as assigned by the Dean of Academic Affairs and the VP of Workforce Development
Support student recruitment, retention, and marketing efforts for technical programs
Recommend and engage qualified industry professionals for program advisory committees; attend and contribute to committee meetings
Represent the college in a professional manner and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with industry and business partners
Qualification
Required
An associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, or a related technical field—or equivalent technical training and industry experience is required
