Space System Engineer

Responsibilities

Provide space system engineering and technical advice for projects and programs as well as support program acquisition efforts for advanced technology, future concept development, and integration activities
Support the revision or drafting of JCIDS and acquisition documentation such as Initial Capability Documents, Analysis of Alternatives, Concept of Operations, Technical/Systems Requirement Documents, Technical Evaluations, and System Specifications
Provide inputs and support on technical and/or programmatic status reporting of individual projects, programs, or portfolios
Identify areas of improvement with actionable, feasible recommendations, and tasks for reducing risk where appropriate as well as support risk identification, process definition, and detailed technical risk mitigation plans
Maintain awareness of current program schedule, monitor acquisition implementation, report requirement shortfalls, and provide program assessments based on the identified risks
Shall advise the Government program manager on technical engagements such as technical interchange meetings, design reviews, program conferences, and other informational meetings
Maintain a broad awareness and understanding of all programs and technology development efforts in execution across the applicable portfolio as well as assist integrated product teams and working groups
Provide technical and operational insight to support mission protection, operations, and mission data assessments as well as recommend viable solutions for technical anomalies

Required

Extensive experience in the design and development of entire space systems, including subcomponents
Highly knowledgeable in multiple space operations and space control-related fields, including but not limited to, orbitology, navigation, sensor employment, communications, optimization, and command and control
Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple competing priorities
Excellent project management and organizational skills
Ability to identify and solve problems
Bachelors Degree
5+ years of relevant experience
TS/SCI Eligibility; #qinetiqclearedjob

Preferred

Experience with Air Force, Space Force, and/or Space Systems Command
Masters Degree
10+ years of relevant experience
