A Civil Engineering Drafting Technician performs drafting using a Computer Aided Drafting & Design (CADD) system and other tools in the preparation of engineering designs, plans, and maps

Qualification

Computer Aided DraftingDesign (CADD)AutoCAD Civil 3DArcGISAutodesk RevitMicroStationGeometryTrigonometryBentley Suite ApplicationsEngineering drafting experienceTechnical document interpretation

Required

Completion of 12 semester units or 18 quarter units in Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) and completion of one course in Geometry and Trigonometry from a high school, accredited college, university, trade school, or technical school; or
Two years of full-time paid engineering drafting experience which includes one year of engineering drafting experience and one year of experience using a CADD system
A valid Class C driver's license issued by the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) at the time of appointment for positions in the Department of Water and Power and the Public Works/Bureau of Sanitation
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD Map, ArcGIS, Autodesk Revit, Bentley Suite Applications, and/or MicroStation for selective certification
