The MRI Technologist operates MRI scanning equipment, ensures MRI safety for all individuals entering the scan room, and produces images for Radiologists while communicating procedural information and assessing image quality.

Responsibilities

Operating MRI scanning equipment and ensuring MRI safety for all individuals entering the scan room
Producing images used by the Radiologists
Orienting the patient and family to the scan procedure and physically preparing and processing the patient through the study
Communicating procedural information to the Radiologist
Preparing and assessing image quality and presenting completed images to the Radiologist

Qualification

MRI scanning equipmentARRT certificationBasic Life Support (BLS)Radiology experienceCommunication skills

Required

High school diploma or equivalent, required
ARRT certification as a radiologic technologist
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, required

Preferred

AA+ degree with field of study in one of the following: chemical, physical, biological science, or medical laboratory technology; preferred
Prior radiology experience, preferred
