Responsibilities
Define platform strategy and develop architecture that will enable scalable development across multiple teams, to adopt software excellence principles of reusability, reliability, availability, and resilience
Navigate ambiguous problem definitions and develop technology strategy that works backward from the customer and true North, cross collaborating with Walmart Supply chain tech teams across the Retail and DotCom business, as well as international expansions
Adopt and envision new age of technology solutions using Agentic AI and related technologies. Drive innovations and challenge the status quo of software engineering
Leads and participates in medium- to large-scale projects by reviewing project requirements, translating requirements into technical solutions by partnering with the product management, technical program managers, business, and user experience teams. Prepare requested information and obtain cross-function approvals
Leads the work of other small group of engineers, including offshore associates, for assigned engineering projects by providing pertinent documents, direction, and examples
Identify short- and long-term solutions and timelines, review and provide feedback for proposed solutions and performing design and code reviews of changes
Hands on development on building n-tier applications using Microservices, Java/J2EE and related technologies
Analyzing business requirements, storyboards and similar artifacts of the scrum process, work in an agile development environment with a quick turnaround time and iterative builds
Work cross-functionally with various teams: product management, various product lines, or business units to drive forward results commitment to team success and positive team dynamics
Passion for growing and applying technical skills in service to customers Experience with SCRUM, and/or Extreme Programming methodologies
Play a true role model and mentor for software engineers and product partners; and be a true partner to Engineering leadership
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 5 years' experience in software engineering or related area
7 years' experience in software engineering or related area
Preferred
Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area
Background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly
Knowledge of accessibility best practices and Walmart's accessibility standards and guidelines for supporting an inclusive culture
