Responsibilities
Ensure that the manufacturing processes can be operated in a safe and stable manner
Participate in the site’s safety program including addressing process safety concerns
Lead and/or participate in capacity optimization and waste reduction projects
Facilitate and lead process trials for raw material and process re-sites
Lead new product introduction scale-up projects from our Research & Innovation team
Lead new process start-up and commissioning projects
Resolve chronic process problems
Make capital expenditure recommendations when needed to facilitate any of the above
Support customer, internal and third party audits
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or other related field is required
A minimum of 5 years work related experience in a chemical processing environment
Troubleshooting skills and root cause – corrective action analysis experience are a must
Needs to display good interpersonal, organizational and verbal/written skills
Good understanding of manufacturing processes with the ability to handle multiple projects
Ability to read and interpret P&ID and other technical drawings and specifications
Preferred
Experience with mixing and film coating processes are a plus
Six Sigma statistical training and Lean manufacturing principles are strongly desired
