Nuvance Health is seeking a Radiologic Technologist 3 to join its dynamic team at Danbury Hospital. The role involves performing diagnostic radiographs while ensuring patient safety and providing clinical instruction to radiologic technologist students.

Responsibilities

Greets patient, introduces self, and checks patient identification

Reviews patient script & Cerner requisition. Ensure appropriate exam is being performed. Acquires history from patient that is pertinent to the exam being performed. Explains procedure and answers any questions the patient has regarding the test

Follows department protocol for exam and ensures the safety and comfort of the patient. Interacts professionally with patient and family

Shields patient according to department protocol and follows ALARA standards

Produces and reviews high quality xrays for interpretation by the Radiologist

Assists Radiologist with invasive procedures

Leads, coaches, and mentors staff members

Works with other modalities to provide complete patient care

Assists with training students and ancillary personnel

Attends annual hospital review (compliance) and departmental in-services and meetings as scheduled

Practices medicine and surgical aseptic procedures

May provide supervision and clinical instruction to prospective radiographers to instill the duties of a radiologic technologist in a health care facility while maintaining excellent patient care

May evaluate a students' ability to perform procedures, and assures student attains objectives in each competency. May perform periodic written evaluation of students

Maintains clinical competency and demonstrates proficiency to work in assigned patient care area(s)

Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position

Performs other duties as assigned
