CNC Programmer II (Powermill), Composites

The CNC Programmer II will be responsible for programming and operating CNC machines to fabricate critical structures for aerospace applications, ensuring quality and efficiency in the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities
Use CAM software to quickly generate programs for the 5-axis CNC used in composite shop
Generate and maintain programs and setup sheets in a high mix/low volume environment
Select tools for machining complex parts in carbon fiber, foam, aluminum, wood, and other composite materials
Set-Up machines and prove out CNC programs
Define and adjust speed and feed parameters for maximum tool life in challenging and high stakes applications
Make suggestions on drawing changes to improve manufacturability and CNC program strategy
Meet expectations for productivity and production goals
Maintain product flow and alert management when production is impeded or slowed
Run machining simulations using Vericut to provide accurate run times and prevent machine collisions
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED
5+ years of CNC programming experience using MasterCam, FeatureCam, PowerMill or equivalent software
5 years of experience operating 5-axis CNC routers, mills, or similar machine tools
Strong problem solving abilities
A strong desire to excel in a high pressure environment with minimal guidance
Preferred
Experience selecting tools and fixtures for cutting composite materials
3+ years experience cutting, routing, and trimming carbon fiber composite materials in aerospace applications
