Responsibilities
Build and operate scalable data pipelines with robust QA, monitoring, and alerting
Create shared tooling to improve data practitioner (data engineering, analytics engineering, data science) productivity and quality across the company
Influence the direction for key infrastructure and framework choices for data pipelining and data management
Contribute to core cross-functional data models
Launch data platform features that have immediate impact on the velocity of innovation and ultimately growth of the business
Manage individual initiatives—Setting priorities, deadlines, and deliverables based on your technical expertise
Foster a culture of inclusion, results-oriented execution, open innovation, and limitless creativity in your team
Specialize in one or more business domains, building deep expertise and anticipating the needs of that business vertical
Qualification
Required
7+ years of relevant development experience—in data platform or data engineering—in fast paced environments
Very high SQL proficiency, with experience in both transactional RDBMS systems and distributed systems
Strong programming and system design skills
Experience designing and developing large-scale, efficient batch and streaming data processing
Ability to analyze and reason about large datasets to identify data quality issues and other contextual insights
Experience mentoring, delegating to, and reviewing the work of junior team members
Passion for great data end-user experience and stewardship
Experience with Data pipeline management and orchestration tools, such as Airflow
Experience with Cloud-based data warehousing solutions, such as Snowflake, BigQuery, and Redshift
Experience with Batch processing systems, such as Spark
