Responsibilities
Source, screen, and qualify top technical talent across technical roles using various sourcing strategies and platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, GitHub, Stack Overflow)
Partner closely with hiring managers and technical leads to understand role requirements, define job descriptions, and develop effective recruitment strategies
Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from initial outreach through offer negotiation and onboarding, ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout
Maintain and track pipeline activity, interview feedback, and hiring metrics using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and reporting tools
Qualification
Required
At least 5+ years (ideally 7+) of technical recruiting experience with expertise: Demonstrated experience in technical recruiting, with a proven track record of success in sourcing, assessing, and hiring engineering talent, leveraging in-depth knowledge and understanding of technical roles, technologies, and skills required in engineering positions
Experience in Full-cycle Recruiting: Hands-on experience managing the full recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing and screening candidates to coordinating interviews, booking travel, conducting reference checks, debriefing in hiring committees, negotiating offers, closing deals, and onboarding new hires, ensuring a seamless and positive candidate experience
Passion for gaming: Genuine enthusiasm for gaming and the gaming industry, with a deep understanding of gaming culture, trends, and technologies
Startup or Turnaround experience: Proven ability to thrive in a startup-like environment, with a proactive mindset, strong initiative, and a track record of taking ownership of recruitment processes and driving results
Healthy tenure: Demonstrated stability and commitment in previous roles, with a track record of staying in positions for 2 or more years. Internal promotions within organizations are highly valued, indicating strong career progression and contributions to company success
Las Vegas local or willingness to relocate: Preference for candidates who are currently located in Las Vegas or willing to relocate, demonstrating a commitment to joining the Skillz team in their Las Vegas office
Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of engineering roles, technologies, and skills required to effectively assess candidates' qualifications
Strategic Thinking: Capacity to develop and execute data-driven / strategic recruiting plans aligned with the company's growth objectives and hiring needs
Problem-Solving: Aptitude for identifying challenges in the recruiting process and implementing creative solutions to overcome them, ensuring a smooth and efficient hiring process
Adaptability: Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities, market conditions, and business needs, while maintaining a high level of performance and professionalism
Negotiation Skills: Proficiency in negotiating job offers, compensation packages, and other employment terms to secure top talent while adhering to budgetary constraints
Relationship Building: Skill in building and nurturing relationships with candidates, hiring managers, and cross-functional partners to facilitate successful hiring outcomes
